Post-Operation Pain & Treatment

For patients undergoing orthopaedic surgery, the post-operative physiotherapy protocol that they follow will be critical to the results that they achieve. Often, there is an established guideline or protocol for the physiotherapist to follow when it comes to common surgeries such as a hip replacement, knee replacement or ACL reconstruction.

Treatment Plan

For most post-op cases the number of sessions needed will depend on the site and type of repair done. More complex issues may need more sessions. Typically, it takes about 6 – 12 weeks for soft tissue to heal. If you have a serious condition or a progressively worsening condition, your course of rehabilitation may take longer.

At B-Fit once the physiotherapist has gone to the initial phases of pain relief and your strength has returned sufficiently to do more complex exercises safely, you will move into the functional restoration phase of your post-op physiotherapy program.

If you are looking to return to an elite level of sport or need to be able to get down on the floor to play with your grandchildren. We have a return-to-sports program where our in-house personal coaches and physiotherapists collaborate to customise a plan for you. This will be done in our fully-equipped gym facility and it is tailored according to your specific needs.
