Nerve Pain &
Injury Treatment
Nerves act to transmit messages around the body, much like a telephone system.
They allow us to feel things and move our muscles. If you have nerve pain, it is critical this is examined and treated quickly as pressure on the nerve can potentially cause severe weakness to muscles, and even become permanent.
Potential Lifestyle Improvements
- Ability to walk longer
- Lifting items safely with minimal or no pain
- Increased periods of sitting and standing
- Ease of mobility from sitting to standing, and getting out of bed without pain
- Decreased or no feeling of numbness or tingling sensation
- Decreased burning sensation
- Good night’s sleep
Treatment Plan
For most nerve impingement or compression issues, the number of sessions needed will depend on the site and severity of nerve damage. Most cases can see improvements in 6 – 7 sessions. Some clients see rapid improvement within just 3 – 4 sessions of physiotherapy — they experience a significant decrease in pain, and an improvement in range of motion, and strength. If you have a serious condition or a progressively worsening condition, your course of rehabilitation may take longer.
Once your symptoms are relieved and you are able to perform basic strengthening exercises, our in-house personal coaches and physiotherapists can collaborate to customise a return-to-work/sports plan for you, to get you back to doing what you love in our fully equipped gym. The Back Pain Core Stabilisation Program assists patients with sciatica to regain normal core muscle control. Other more advanced programs can include stability exercises and equipment such as a Swiss exercise ball. Please call us to enquire on the possibilities.
