DO I NEED A DOCTOR’S REFERRAL?

No, it is not a must. Physiotherapists are primary healthcare practitioners. As therapists we are trained to assess, diagnose, and treat our patients as required.

If you are not sure about how physiotherapy may help your condition, do feel free to drop us a call so that we may advise you as needed.

Do note that for insurance companies, they still require a doctor's referral for reimbursement of physiotherapy treatments. It is the responsibility of the patient to check their coverage.

Should you need a doctor’s referral we are also able to refer you to our partnering doctor located in the same complex.

ARE YOUR PHYSIOTHERAPISTS REGISTERED?

Yes, we make sure that all of our physiotherapists are licensed to practice with the Allied Health Professional Council of Singapore.

HOW LONG IS THE INITIAL ASSESSMENT?

Initial assessments usually last 45 minutes. In order to accurately diagnose and get to the root issues of your concerns, your physiotherapist at B-Fit will have a detailed conversation with you to identify the location, nature, behaviour and onset of your symptoms.

Through this assessment, your physiotherapist will be able to then establish the underlying cause(s) of your issue(s).

Your physiotherapist will then explain, educate and advise you on a rehabilitation plan designed for your condition. This is how we partner and guide our patients to recovery.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY SESSIONS?

Please arrive 10 minutes earlier for your first appointment to complete registration. We suggest that you dress comfortably and if possible, wear loose fitting clothing to provide ease of access to the affected area for evaluation and treatment.

For example, if you have a knee problem, it is best to wear shorts. For a shoulder problem, a tank top is a good choice, and for lower back problems, wear a loose fitting shirt. Denim jeans, for instance, are not advisable if you have a knee-related condition.

You are also advised to bring along your referral letters, medical records, and relevant medical imaging such as X-rays, if any.

HOW DOES PHYSIOTHERAPY HEAL MY INJURY?

Our treatment consists of both hands-on techniques, as well as modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and/or heat or cold therapy. Rehabilitative exercises help to reduce swelling and pain, as well as restore function.

Your physiotherapist will provide you with the appropriate exercises not only for pain relief but to recover range of motion, strength, and endurance. At B-Fit we believe that achieving the patient’s goals are our top priority. If there are certain sports that you would like to return to, we have a ‘return-to-sports’ program consisting of physiotherapy and specific exercises with our personal trainers who understand recovery and sports science.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE BEFORE I BEGIN TO FEEL BETTER?

There is no specific amount of time that it takes for you to start feeling better. Recovery is dependent on many factors such as age, type of injury, length of time since the injury, initial care, diet and overall health.

You will be re-evaluated on each visit and when you see your doctor, we will provide you with a progress report with our recommendations.

At B-Fit, we pride ourselves with being your partner and guide to recovery. We will collaborate with you as we educate, teach and guide you as you make a full recovery!

WILL MY HEALTH INSURANCE PAY FOR PHYSIOTHERAPY?

In most cases, private health insurance will cover your treatment of physiotherapy. You must pay for each completed session as they are completed so that a receipt can be issued. You will need to send the original receipts to your insurance company to be reimbursed along with your physician's referral letter (some insurance companies may request for this).

You may also get your insurance company for pre-authorisation of service. You will enjoy direct billing if your insurance company issues a Letter of Guarantee (LOG) indicating the number of sessions approved or the coverage amount.

Should you need a doctor’s referral we are able to refer you to our partnering doctor who is also located in the same complex.

Most hospitalisation and accident plans do cover physiotherapy under the insurance scheme and if you are not sure please drop us an email at info@bfit.sg and we will get one of our insurance specialists to give you a call and explain your coverage.

HOW SOON CAN I CONFIRM MY APPOINTMENTS?

Normally within 24 hours.

CAN I PARTICIPATE IN YOUR GYM PROGRAMMES?

Yes! Patients that are discharged from active physiotherapy treatment are welcome to continue with our in- house personal trainers to continue an independent exercise programme.

By continuing with this personal training, you can improve and maintain all of the health benefits you have experienced as a patient, at a relatively low cost. It’s our way to help you enjoy your active lifestyle pain-free or get back to the sport you love.

All sessions are done on a one-to-one basis.

IS THE TRAINING TOUGH?

The trainers at B-Fit believe that training should be CHALLENGING, FUN, and SAFE. From cardiovascular activities to specialised resistance training, we will create a training programme that’s best suited to you.

With that being said, how ‘tough’ one perceives training would solely depend on how well-trained an individual may be, whether you’re an athlete or someone who’s stepping into the gym for the first time. Regardless, our trainers will take the time to understand your fitness goals, and partner and guide you in your own customised fitness programme.

HOW MANY TIMES PER WEEK SHOULD I TRAIN?

How many sessions you should do in a week mainly depends on your current fitness level and ability to commit. Of course, 2-3 sessions in a week would be ideal, and highly recommended by our trainers.

Over time, when your body starts to adapt and gets stronger through consistent training, your body recovers quicker. When this happens, you may choose to consider increasing your overall training frequency.

DO YOU GUYS OFFER GYM MEMBERSHIPS OR PER ENTRY USAGE?

No, we do not. To maintain exclusivity to our clients, we are strictly a ‘personal training only’ studio. This allows us to prevent overcrowding during peak and off peak hours. It also gives our clients the privacy that they want while training.

You’re required to bring;

DO YOU GUYS HAVE SHOWER FACILITIES?

Yes, we do have a shower. Showers are equipped with a heater as well, so you will be able to get in a nice warm shower at the end of your workout.

WHAT ARE YOUR OPENING HOURS LIKE?

We are available every day of the week: 8.30am – 8.00pm, Monday to Friday. 8.30am to 3.00pm, Saturday.

On appointment basis, Sunday.

IS THERE PARKING?

If you guys are driving, there are parking lots available across the road from our facility at TIDES building. Another option would be to park at I12 Katong, which is a 3-4 min walk away from B-Fit.
