Our Team

Jay Pal, Sports Coach
Jay has been a coach for more than 10 years and has trained as a national athlete representing Singapore’s Floorball team for a decade. He holds a Diploma in Sports and Exercise Science, and is currently pursuing a Bachelors in Physical Education with Management. Jay is dually qualified as coach for the National Under-19 Floorball team as Head Goal Keeper Coach and Physical Conditioning Trainer, as well as a SEA Games Gold Medalist (2015). Jay is also passionate about football — he has represented Singapore in the yearly Gurdwara Cup as well as trained consistently with Singapore National Football League team. He prides himself on his positive coaching style and altering training programs to allow individuals to reach their optimum potential. Jay aims to make bootcamp exercises fun by introducing sports and games into the routine.
Balli Singh,
Senior Principal Physio
With more than a decade of experience specialising in Sports and Musculoskeletal conditions, Balli has treated more than 1,000 patients with knee, shoulder and back issues. In his physiotherapy treatments, Balli employs the latest evidence-based technologies and techniques — such as ultrasound and interferential therapy — so clients can achieve better results, faster. Balli graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Queensland, Australia in 2010. He is also trained, through post-graduate courses, in dry needling, physiotherapy instrument mobilization, kinesiology sports taping, and clinical pilates.
Kai Tan,
Training Manager
Kai has more than 10 years of experience training clients of all ages — from 12 to 75 years old. With a Specialist Diploma in Sports and Exercise Sciences, as well as certification in Rehab Training, Precision Nutrition, Kai’s interest and expertise in corrective and rehab training allow his clients to regain strength after injury, safely perform sports or daily activities and generally recover a sense of normalcy.

Kai’s focus on proper form and recovery comes from first-hand experience after experiencing a Brazilian jiu-jitsu injury. His first-hand understanding of the recovery and rehab process has spurred his passion in ensuring diverse clients — regardless of how active, stressed or busy they are — reach their fitness goals and build a healthier lifestyle.
Ashley, Trainer
Ashley possesses a degree in psychology and loves coaching people; to her the best part of the job is helping people achieve fitness goals they never thought possible. She’s highly proficient with the barbell lifts, and is particularly passionate about nutrition coaching. Working in this space comes naturally to, her mum used to run a healthclub and her brother is a physio. She’s also Master Scuba Dive Trainer (MSDT) certified and is devoted to marine life conservation. She does love the outdoors!
Melissa, Trainer
Despite having a degree in economics, Melissa has always enjoyed working with people more than crunching numbers! Melissa started her fitness journey 6 years ago, lifting weights in the gym. She has since achieved a healthy balance of strength, mobility and flexibility and is living proof that lifting weights do not make women bulky. At BFIT, we emphasise on both movement quality and strength - exactly why Melissa is a great fit for our team. In her free time, Melissa enjoys dancing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle both in and out of the gym.
Jireh, Trainer
Jireh is bona fide exercise science geek, having completed his exercise degree. He’s fabulous at teaching foam rolling to get of all those aches and pains, and runs group training sessions very very well. You would be hard pressed to find a personal trainer as attentive as Jireh. Having spent years at overly commercialised big box gyms, he tired of it, and found his way to Bfit, where he finds the studio environment and the honest approach to training much preferred. While Jireh enjoys regular “gym dates” and enjoys using machines, and barbell lifts, he generally prefers bodyweight training and whole body compound movements.
